Las manifestaciones rupestres de Yécora, Sonora. Frontera cultural de los O ́ob (Pimas)

Abstract

Los estudios de las pinturas rupestres en Sonora, no son tan abundantes como la cantidad de sitios arqueológicos que existen, con este tipo de manifestación cultural de los pueblos de antaño. Las investigaciones que se han realizado, principalmente se han enfocado a un solo sitio arqueológico. Pero también existen esfuerzos desde 1990 para el establecimiento de una regionalización de los asentamientos con grabados y pinturas rupestres, en relación con su distribución a lo largo de las diferentes cuencas de los ríos de Sonora. A partir del año de 2003, se ha tenido la oportunidad, en diferentes ocasiones y por tiempos breves, de recorrer la región de Yécora, conociendo los asentamientos prehispánicos, algunos de ellos con pinturas rupestres.

Studies of rock art in Sonora are not abundant, as are the number of archaeological sites that exist with this type of cultural manifestation of the people of yesteryear. The investigations that have been carried out have mainly focused on a single archaeological site. But there are also efforts since 1980 to establish a regionalization of the settlements with engravings and rock paintings, about their distribution along the different river basins of Sonora. Since 2003, we have had the opportunity, on other occasions and for short periods, to visit the Yécora region, getting to know the pre-Hispanic settlements, some of them with cave paintings.
