Abstract
This Final Degree Project aims to analyze the situation of women deprived of liberty in the Spanish prison system from a gender and human rights perspective. It conducts a legislative, social, and organizational review, highlighting the inequalities suffered by women in prison. In addition to facing criminal punishment for their crimes, they also bear a double stigma. Key aspects are examined, such as prison legislation, the profile of women inmates, motherhood in prison, and access to resources and services, as well as the role of Social Work in intervention processes. In turn, a series of measures are proposed so that Social Work can promote equity, comprehensive support, and the active participation of women inmates so that they can achieve a measure of dignity, autonomy, and reintegration into society.
