Abstract
These observations have come about during the study of historical restorations that took place on this archaeological site, and which brought us closer to both the modern and contemporary history of Hadrian's residence. During the process, which sought to understand and chronologically assign the numerous additions to the structures; the practical reuse of the remains; the "un"-restorations or the traditional paths, we took into account the analysis of the stratigraphy of the walls, texts and illustrated documents: all of which might illuminate substantial activities, which are poorly understood. Here, we propose to clear up the sources of incorrect attribution that have formed part of educational itineraries over several decades at the villa. Indeed, this search has brought about the opportunity to discern the possible presence some time ago, of structures that were seldom studied, and that have disappeared today.
