Abstract
This article offers a comparative analysis of legislative changes in Brazil, Mexico, and Peru resulting from the criminalization of the murder of women. These countries have enacted specific legislation in recent years legally defining this type of violence. The incorporation of the category of femicide in these international contexts constitutes an ongoing process that highlights a set of disputes and interpretive struggles between state actors, social movements, and national organizations. The data presented are based on a mapping of the set of laws related to the criminalization of femicide and transfemicide in the three countries.
