Abstract

Description
The mural painting made in the early years of the XVIIIth century in the church of Los Venerables in Seville by Lucas Valdés representing Carlos II giving his carriage to a priest is the great visual source of the Sevillian baroque carriage. In this art converged, in addition to the coachbuilding, sculpture, painting and fabrics. To this were added the harnesses that link ed horses and carriage, the uniforms of the servants, as well as the development of a Eucharistic liturgy that spread in Spain and the Americas and in which the carriage reached its maximum social significance.
