Abstract
In contemporary Mexican photography, the artistic production of photographer Patricia Aridjis stands out, showcasing a gaze that delves into the social boundaries that marginalize different groups of women in Mexico. In this text, we will take a brief journey through some of Aridjis’ photographic projects, such as “Arrullo para otros” (Lullaby for Others), “Las horas negras” (The Dark Hours), and her recent exhibition “Mujeres de peso” (Women of Weight). These projects have contributed to generating alternative visual narratives and have also succeeded in establishing themselves within the museum space in contemporary Mexican scene. As a result, they contribute to the inclusion of these invisible women in the collective imagination.
