This book, which deals with the physical and professional interaction of Shipping Art and Art Materials in six early modern European ports, is the fruit of an intense and rare collaboration between historians of finance and naval commerce and social historians of art, procured and directed by the writer from 2016 to the present day. All the authors are specialists and ex- perts in the cities they discuss - Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Cadiz and Lisbon - in their role as capitals of kingdoms and well-established ports on the naval route from the Mediterranean to Flanders.
