Del coleccionismo a la museología en Cuba

Abstract

La evolución y definición del coleccionismo y los museos en Cuba hasta su estado institucional actual, responde tanto a factores internos como externos. El propio tránsito por distintas etapas de valoraciones, apreciaciones, provoca un proceso de asimilación y desarrollo cultural de las identidades nacional, regional y local. Mientras que el inicio, progreso y aplicación de la museología como ciencia en el país evidenció cambios importantes en todo el ámbito museístico. De esta forma, el presente artículo pretende desde el análisis lograr un acercamiento al coleccionismo, los museos y la museología en Cuba desde el siglo XVI al XXI.The evolution and definition of collecting and museums in Cuba to its current institutional status, responds to internal and external factors. The transit itself through different stages of evaluations, appraisals, provokes a process of assimilation and cultural development of national, regional and local identities. While the beginning, progress and application of museology as a science in the country evidenced important changes in the museum sphere. In this way, this article aims, from the analysis, to achieve an approach to collecting, museums and museology in Cuba from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century.
