Abstract
El presente trabajo indaga acerca de los efectos del Museo Provincial de Arte Contemporáneo (MAR) como agente destacado en el proceso de revitalización urbana de la zona costera norte de la ciudad de Mar del Plata, Argentina. Este análisis de perfil urbanístico reconoce las influencias que poseen estas instituciones culturales, tanto en el tejido urbano, como en el plano social y en el económico. Es más, para profundizar en esta observación se describen otros casos significativos que promueven este fenómeno.
Desde la perspectiva de la museología social, los museos son vistos como un instrumento dinámico capaz de transformar la calidad de vida de las personas, puesto que sus prácticas son apreciadas por la comunidad en términos identitarios y culturales por lo que sucede en su interior, y de igual manera se los considera, como proveedores de agentes en el desarrollo sostenible de las ciudades con influencias hacia el exterior.
This paper investigates the effects of the Museo Provincial de Arte Contemopareno (MAR) as a prominent agent in the process of urban revitalization of the northern coastal area of the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina. This urban profile analysis recognizes the influences that these cultural institutions have, both in the urban fabric, as well as in the social and economic spheres. Moreover, to deepen this observation, other significant cases that promote this phenomenon are described. From the perspective of social museology, museums are seen as a dynamic instrument capable of transforming people’s quality of life, since their practices are appreciated by the community in identity and cultural terms for what happens inside, and In the same way, they are considered as providers of agents in the sustainable development of cities with external influences.
