Abstract
Luisa de Valdés o Luisa de Morales trabajó en los
fastos de la beatificación de Fernando III dentro del anonimato que propiciaba el obrador. Solamente un acontecimiento, calificado de milagroso, sacó a la luz su nombre como policromadora de la escultura de Fernando III realizada por Pedro Roldán como centro de los festejos. Un suceso que quedó conservado entre la documentación aportada para la canonización del rey y que permite ahondar en el papel social de las creadoras artísticas en el Barroco hispano.
Luisa de Valdés or Luisa de Morales worked in the fastis of the beatification of Fernando III within the anonymity of the workshop. Only one event, described as miraculous, brought her name to light as the painter of the Fernando III sculpture (made by Pedro Roldán) at the center of the festivities. An event that remained preserved in the documentation provided for the king's canonization, it allows us to delve into the social role of artistic creators in the Hispanic Baroque.
