El presente artículo describe las causas socio-políticas que generaron la protesta rural y sus diversas manifestaciones, en especial el bandolerismo, durante el gobierno del Capitán General Camilo García de Polavieja en Cuba, así como la represión puesta en marcha para sofocar la inestabilidad imperante y los resultados obtenidos.
This article describes the socio-political causes that generated the rural protest and its various manifestations, including banditry, during the government of Captain General Camilo García de Polavieja in Cuba, and the repression launched to suppress the instability and obtained results.
