Abstract
El empleo de coches en la ceremonia de entrega de cartas credenciales de los embajadores se generalizó en Europa en el siglo XVII y evidencia la enorme relación entre el carruaje y la diplomacia durante el Antiguo Régimen. En esta ocasión haremos una aproximación a la significación y pervivencia de tal ceremonia, escasamente atendida por la bibliografía, a partir de diversos casos.
The use of carriages in the ambassadors credential ceremony became widespread in Europe in the XVIIth century and evidences the enormous relationship between the carriage and diplomacy during the Ancien Régime. On this occasion we will make an approximation to the significance and pervicence of such a ceremony, scarcely attended by the bibliography, from various cases.
