Abstract

Description
This article examines the origins and development of the implementation of a European Order for Payment procedure, aimed at harmonising the procedural rules of the Member States of the European Union. It analyses the European Union’s efforts to adopt measures in the field of judicial cooperation in civil matters with cross-border implications, which are necessary for the proper functioning of the internal market, while preventing national borders from acting as deterrents for creditors. This objective is pursued through legal instruments designed to ensure the effective protection of credit.
