Una dote para Cecilia. La colección de don Miguel Marín de Villanueva.

Abstract

En este trabajo se aborda el estudio documental de la dote de doña Cecilia Fernández de Heredia, lo que permite no sólo revelar la riqueza de la misma sino también ahondar en la historia el coleccionismo en España. Valentín Carderera fue el primero en llamar la atención sobre esta colección de pinturas, y gracias al descubrimiento del documento original podemos conocer de primera mano la magnitud de la misma. Así mismo este estudio ha permitido desmentir la muy extendida creencia de que existían dos grandes colecciones en la Zaragoza de la Edad Moderna; la de Fernández de Heredia y la de Miguel Marín de Villanueva, puesto que en realidad se trata de la misma, como se desprende del estudio.------------------------------------------------------------------------This article deals with the study of the official document of the dowry of Cecilia Fernández de Heredia. This document reveals the richness of her dowry and it allows us to take a new look at the History of Collections in Spain. Valentín Carderera was the first who paid attention to this painting collection, but now due to the discovery of the original official document we know more about the paintings. Furthermore, this article provides the evidence to refute the belief that there were two important collectors in Modern Era Saragossa; the Fernández de Heredia collection and the Miguel Marín de Villanueva one. In fact, the documental and genealogical analysis shows they are one and the same.
