This article seeks to analyze who were the readers of law books in Early Modern Spain. In order to do so, we have developed a database with 450 inventories of private libraries registered in Seville between 1550 and 1634. This sample will allow us to study the prevalence of some authors of legal books or law schools over others, and the social and cultural profile of their readers.
