Abstract
En un contexto de incertidumbre en la sostenibilidad y cohesión social del medio rural español, el artículo analiza las apuestas educativas y expectativas de movilidad por razón de clase social de jóvenes estudiantes de Formación Profesional y Bachillerato, residentes en municipios rurales andaluces de diferente nivel de vulnerabilidad territorial. La metodología llevada a cabo es predominantemente cualitativa, basada en el análisis de discurso mediante entrevistas en profundidad a estudiantes de siete institutos de secundaria del ámbito rural, con el apoyo de los resultados obtenidos de un cuestionario administrado en los institutos de pertenencia. Los resultados apuntan a diferencias en las expectativas de movilidad rural-urbana en función del itinerario formativo cursado, que viene en gran medida condicionado por un escenario de desigualdad de oportunidades por origen social. No obstante, la mayor valoración de las apuestas de continuidad educativa, transversal a todas y todos los jóvenes, nos lleva a señalar la potencialidad de la formación profesional en el medio rural como favorecedora de las expectativas de continuidad formativa y el arraigo territorial. En ese sentido, se apunta la necesidad de apostar en las políticas públicas por la ampliación de una oferta formativa amplia, equitativa, y conectada con el territorio.
In a context of uncertainty in sustainability and social cohesion in rural Spain, the article analyzes the educational strategies and expectations of mobility for education in young vocational training and high school students, living in rural Andalusian municipalities of different levels of territorial vulnerability. The methodology carried out is predominantly qualitative, based on the analysis of the discourse through in-depth interviews with students from seven rural secondary schools, with the support of the results obtained from a survey administered to them. The results point to differences in the expectations of rural-urban mobility depending on the educational pathway, which is largely conditioned by a scenario of unequal opportunities based on social origin. Nonetheless, the greater appreciation of educational continuity, transversal among all the students, leads us to point out the potential of vocational training in the rural environment as a promoter of the expectations of educational continuity and territorial rootedness. In this sense, we point out the need to bet on public policies for the expansion of a wide and equitable training offer, connected to the territory.
