dc.description	Between 1756-1767 the parish church of San Miguel de Montefurado (Quiroga, Lugo) was built and in the following years up to 1808 its five altarpieces were assembled and polychromed. The liturgical trousseau was also enriched with silversmithing pieces made in Salamanca. All this was sponsored by different members of the Quiroga family, who held the jurisdictional lordship of Montefurado, the patronage of the church, and the privilege of appointing the parish priest. In this unpublished research analyzes the figure of José Nicolás de Quiroga as the most prominent of this lineage in the 18th century. Together with the priest José Antonio Quiroga, he paid for most of the aforementioned works, including the construction of the church, the main altarpiece, and the Salamancan monstrance made by the silversmith Juan Manuel Sanz.
dc.description.abstract	Entre 1756-1767 se construyó la iglesia parroquial de San Miguel de Montefurado (Quiroga, Lugo) y en los años sucesivos que alcanzan hasta 1808 se ensamblaron y policromaron sus cinco retablos. Entonces también se enriqueció el ajuar litúrgico con piezas de platería realiza- das en Salamanca. Todo ello fue patrocinado por distintos miembros de la familia Quiroga, quienes ostentaban el señorío jurisdiccional de Montefurado, el patronato del templo y el privilegio de designar al párroco. En esta inédita investigación se estudia la figura de José Nicolás de Quiroga por ser la más destacada de dicho linaje en el siglo XVIII. Junto con el cura José Antonio Quiroga sufragó la mayor parte de las obras aludidas, incluyendo la edificación de la iglesia, el retablo mayor o la custodia salmantina realizada por el platero Juan Manuel Sanz.
