Abstract
This essay in the Social Work Final Degree Project modality will address the phenomenon of homeless mothers, analyzing their life experiences from a perspective based on the search for documentary sources and a brief previous experience in the field of homelessness. The combination of these two tools gives rise to the elaboration of a critical essay that aims to make visible the phenomenon of homeless mothers in order to propose future lines of action with this subgroup of the homeless collective. During the development of the work, the phenomenon of poverty and social exclusion will be studied as a contextualization, moving on to the subsequent analysis of the effect of residential exclusion, this being the limitation or inability to access safe housing. As an effect of this exclusion is the situation of homelessness, in which the main characteristics of this concept, the profiles of people in this group and the triggers of this situation will be discussed. Subsequently, it will delve fully into the problem from a gender perspective, studying the role of women in this group, and more specifically, of the homeless mother. Within this subgroup, the causes that promote this situation, the effects and the survival strategies to get out of it will be examined, concluding with a final outcome of this critical essay, trying to address it mostly with data from the city of Seville and generically, from Andalusia.
