Abstract
Trials for crimes against humanity are exceptional events because they bring to the forefront the struggles over memory at the local and national levels. This article analyzes the first trial of a member of the federal judiciary during the last military dictatorship, focusing on press coverage and the debates surrounding memory within the courtroom during the trial sessions at the Federal Oral Court No. 2 of Tucumán. The findings reveal bias in the national and provincial press coverage, the pact of silencewithin the judiciary, and the actions of human rights organizations during the 2015 trial.
