Abstract

Description

Based on different theoretical, historical, and empirical elements, the reconstructions developed at the original borders of the Totonacapan of Puebla were investigated. In this sense, “ethnic self-awareness” arises under the influence of the community of language and territory, of everyday habits and customs. This work starts from the fact that the ethnic community or ethnos is a synonym for region here. The spaces occupied by the Totonac indigenous people constitute a region with a certain coherence. Its homogeneity is established and determined by everything that arises from the ethnic community.
