Abstract

However, currently within the Public Social Services System in Spain, Social Work professionals and users of these services, at the local level, are not satisfied with the system, as evidenced by various investigations. The present study proposes to investigate the perception of participation in their interventions and their helping relationships with professionals for the modernization of Social Services. In this way, it is suggested to conceptualize restructuring as a challenge for Social Work as agents of change and citizens as protagonists and, in this way, to modernize the Social Services System with the aim of achieving services that ensure the quality of the programs offered, their effectiveness and efficiency, and their focus on the continuous improvement of society and the people who make it up.
