Rituales colectivos en el fútbol femenino profesional en España. Estructuras rituales en el Athletic de Bilbao y la Unión Deportiva Tenerife.

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las prácticas rituales en el fútbol practicado por mujeres. Se exploran, describen y secuencian las formas de elaboración e innovación ritual grupal en dos clubes de fútbol femenino profesional pertenecientes a la Primera División Española (Liga F), el Athletic de Bilbao y la Unión Deportiva Tenerife. Ambos clubes presentan significativas diferencias de estructura, trayectoria y representatividad, mayor en el caso del Athletic y menor en el del Tenerife. Cada club representa uno de los dos principales paradigmas de los modelos históricos, estructurales e institucionales en el fútbol femenino en España. Esto nos permitió ampliar la perspectiva, en clave de género, y complementar nuestra aproximación a los rituales deportivos en el fútbol femenino. Metodológicamente nos apoyamos en el análisis discursivo derivado de seis entrevistas cualitativas en profundidad realizadas a jugadoras de ambos clubes. A partir de la propia voz de las protagonistas elaboramos sus estructuras rituales características. Ello nos permitió confirmar la importancia y plena incorporación de las mujeres a las dinámicas rituales características del mundo deporte, así como ciertas resignificaciones y desplazamientos del ritual desde lo sagrado a lo secular.This article analyses ritual practices in women’s football. It explores, describes and sequences the forms of group ritual elaboration and innovation in two professional women’s football clubs of the Spanish First Division (Liga F), Athletic de Bilbao and Unión Deportiva Tenerife. Both clubs are very different in structure, trajectory and representativeness, more in the case of Athletic and less in the case of Tenerife. Each club represents one of the two main paradigms of historical, structural and institutional models in women’s football in Spain. This allowed us to broaden the perspective, in terms of gender, and complement our approach to sporting rituals in women's football. Methodologically, we relied on the discursive analysis derived from six in-depth qualitative interviews conducted with players from both clubs. With the voices of the protagonists we elaborated the characteristics of their ritual structures. This allowed us to confirm the importance and full incorporation of women into the ritual dynamics characteristic of the sports world, as well as certain resignifications and displacements of ritual from the sacred to the secular.
