Abstract
This article examines the virtues of restorative justice by analyzing its possibilities as an alternative mechanism to resolve the conflicts of minor offenders in Colombia; thus, when observing the minor crimes that this population incurs and its impact on citizen security, we see how the demand to rethink the social policy aimed at the security and defense of victims is an exercise that demands from the various institutional actors a commitment to the review of the current model whose shortcomings in terms of rehabilitation, repair and restoration require corrective measures aimed at rescuing values that, centered on the victims, contemplate components such as equity, proportionality, responsibility and dignity.
